And I don't mean when it's Christmas or Summer. The best ones usually are cars ads.

Sometimes the song is composed specifically for the ad, but most of the times they are any kind of version of already existing songs. Few times known (hits I mean) songs are used, usually the original is a totally unknown song from the past.

Today is an example of those former cases. The ad is for Fiat Bravo. The song is called Meravigliosa creatura by Gianna Nannini. It's a quieter version of her own song. As we have seen in other cases, slowering the rythm of the song makes it a more romantic, sweeter and with more feeling song. Some day I'll tell you about my theory about almost any New Order song slowered makes a new better song.

That voice.....

I found today's artist because of the OST of the film "Garden State". In that soundtrack she interprets the marvellous song "Let go" by Frou Frou, group whose singer was today's artist. She is Imogen Heap.

Her second solo album called Speak for yourself has awesome tracks where she shows her incredible control of her voice.

It is worthy listening to the whole album several times but I'd like you to watch this video about her performance at a radio station where she shows us how a song with several voices can be performed, syncronising it with her own voice without making a fool of herself in the trial: Just for now (live at studio 11):
More here and here

French sweetness

I'll tell you how I got to know about today's artist: the thing is that the Astra Satellite has added a French music channel called NRJ, which allows me to listen to French artists. Listening to its compilation CD I found a Spanish-named French singer called Olivia Ruiz. She has that special touch French artists can give to their songs. That melodic and melancolic feeling.

From her album La femme chocolat I'd recommend mainly 3 tracks, although you should listen to the whole album.
Those songs are the following:

J'traine des pieds (absolutely delicious)

La femme chocolat

Let's start

Hello music lovers. The aim of this site is to propose you a different song for your day just to enjoy it. It's just five minutes of your time.

Relax, forget everything just for a while, let the music move you, feel it, let your imagination drive you wherever it wants.

If the song touches you in any way I'll recommend you to try to listen to the whole album of that artist, with a little of luck you'll find more feelings in those tracks. Anyway, sometimes I'll recommend more than one song from the album and sometimes I'll choose another song from an already suggested artist.

Well, let's start right now. Why to wait until tomorrow when we can enjoy one of the life's pleasures. The other day I was listening to the album called: "Oh You're so silent Jens" of Jens Lekman when I found this song called: Pocketful of money which has a very particular touch. That deep voice in the middle of the song shocks you, it's a very surprising turn of the melody. After the first time you listen to the song, that very part will remain in your brain. The second time you'll be gratefully surprised how perfectly well that weird part fits within the rest of this beatiful song. The videoclip is not the best one, it reminds me the old videoclips we used to watch in the 80's telling some kind of story but not getting to do it very well. Well, I hope you'll enjoy it. Soon more songs!

Pocketful of money
